A) I realized after reading " Four Stand- Out College Essay About Money,"these adolescents took a risk in writing a topic that incorporated two things: how low income families struggle financially and what they did to overcome it. I can relate since I have one parent who works everyday of the week and sometimes on the weekend, and if it is necessary I would like to start working. I know I cannot relied on him forever. I grew up ambitious and I wanted more things in life however, I lived a tight budget yet I should be grateful for because some are less fortunate than I am.

B)Regarding "An Update on 4 Students After a College Year," I can assume that after a year in college these freshmen had contributed in some way to their community or will at some point give back to the people in a career that they are pursuing.

A. From this article, I can see how college applications are changing. Many students aren't writing about their triumphs in school or the many successes they had. Instead they are writing about the struggles they overcame or are overcoming such as financial problems. I realize that colleges are looking for real life stories instead of fake stories.
B. This article talks about the experiences four college students had in their first year in college. All these students have different activities and hobbies they focus on. These students also got accepted into the colleges for different reasons.

Even though at times it is difficult to write about stuff you are uncomfortable writing about, you still have to do it because that one article might eventually help you in getting into one of the higher colleges.

B) This article had a really good insight on what happens after all these events plays out and if the students have actually succeeded in their doing or if they failed. It accurately details on what the students do after they succeed and that they are happy in their current endeavors.

Something that many people have gone through including myself, but something they were the first to actually acknowledge.

One can say that these are just people who want to use their studies to give back to their community or one that is not their own.

A) The article, "Four Stand-Out College Essays About Money", accurately reflects the struggles teenagers--and their families--must endure throughout their lives: the struggle of money. The high school seniors mentioned in this article talk about their financial struggles and how their families would overcome it. It depicts a world in which we all have come to know; we all have parents (and even siblings) that go to work early in the morning and will not return until late at night. Families will take any opportunity they can get to save and/or get more money. It is very important for students to open their eyes and begin writing about real-life problems, such as finances, in their application essays. It makes everything seem more real and less awkward or forced like it is when you write about yourself.
B) The article, "An Update on 4 Students After a College Year", shows how four very unique students are experiencing (or have experienced) their first year of college. They each go to different colleges with very different atmospheres, and the article describes how each of those students are thriving on those college campuses. This article also shows that even if you don't get accepted into a school of your choice, such as how Shanti Kumar was not accepted into Princeton, you still have many other possibilities and could end up just as happy somewhere else.

1)In the first essay "Four Stand-Out College Essays about Money" it was basically how they changed the topic of their essays. They didnt write much about all the wonderful things they did in high school they talked about how hard it was, they talked about the struggles they endured and the failures they aquired during those four years. But they brought it back up with speaking about how they managed to overcome all the obstacles in their way and were able to finish on top.
2) In the essay "An update on Four Students After a College year" was basically about how the students were doing after a hard year in college and what they learned. It also showed the fact that they were using thier studies to be able to give back to those who were deprived.

A)From the article " Four Stand- Out College Essay About Money," these students took a risk writing about their financial problems instead of what most seniors would write about which is their accomplishments in high school and academic achievements but the people that read the same essay over and over again get bored and just quickly scan through the similar ones. You want to be honest and not make up some lie about high school. They express how tough it was to achieve there academic goals even though their families were not all that wealthy. It shows that even though you don't come from a wealthy family does not mean that you will not go to college.
B)After reading "An Update on 4 Students After a College Year," it shows how the first year of college and how they learned and progressed from it.

(A★)The first article "Four Stand-Out College Essays About Money," was rather interesting and it should be able to receive the reader's attention by stating that regardless of your grade point average, your extra curricular activities or your challenging classes, the important people reading your application essay for the college or university of your choice should be amazed by your own personality and character. The student applicants mentioned each had their own unique stories, just like everyone else does, but they actually wrote about it and didn't limit themselves to boring grades and test scores. More students should be aware of the message presented here and know that they can be themselves, not what they think the college wants them to be.
(B★) "An Update on 4 Students After a College Year" was less interesting to me because I know that everyone's perspective on life or nearby future can change within a certain period of time. Although it's good that they're all doing well and but just like anyone else they'll keep evolving into full grown adults with a great college experience and everything will be fine.

A) From this article you can see how they maximized what they had and used it to their advantage. They got to talk about many things: like the struggles, goals, feelings, and many other things.
B) It showed how not everyone stays in one place or just does one thing. Like the girl that fell for the piano, she didn't planned that. The others are giving back to the community, and growing themselves. It shows their efforts and determination.

From the article, "Four Stand-Out College Essays About Money," one may conclude that the value of including unique details about oneself in the personal statement is what truly makes some applicants stand out from all others. When students explain why a passion has remained a meaningful aspect of their lives, they give the opportunity to college admissions officers to have a more personal, thoughtful outlook on who they are and where they would like to go in life. The personal statement is meant to include facts that may seem insignificant yet make a great difference in people's lives.

A: After reading "Four Stand-Out College Essay About Money," I came to realize what college deans look for in a college application from undergrads. Students should not be afraid to speak up about their struggles and morals learned. It is not all about how one does academically but about what one as a person can bring to the table. College applications should not be as ordinary as everyone else's. It needs to capture the attention of colleges.

They did not get into their first choice of college but that did not stop them from what dream they wanted to pursue. These students are now traveling the world but for something they love doing.
